Dr. Ahmed Al-Gharaiba, Director General of the Vocational Training Corporation, participated in the Fourth Educational Forum, which was held in Amman under the title: "Quality of Education – Integration and Development", with the wide participation of general and higher education and vocational training institutions in Jordan.
During his participation in the forum, Dr. Al-Gharaiba stressed the importance of vocational education and training as a key pillar to link the training outputs with the needs of the labor market. He pointed out that during 2024, the Corporation graduated a total of 6,782 trainees, who joined the labor market in various sectors.
He explained that since 2022, the Corporation has started implementing a comprehensive national plan aimed at aligning vocational training outputs with the requirements of the local, regional and international labor market, in line with the Vision of Economic Modernization, which was launched in 2022, one of its main priorities being the alignment of education and training outputs.
Dr. Al-Gharaiba pointed out that the Corporation is working according to four main steps to achieve this alignment:

Effective partnership with the private sector: by involving it in the development and adoption of criteria for the admission of trainees.

Designing training programs according to the needs of the market: in a flexible manner that allows adjusting the duration and content of the programs according to the requirements of the labor market.

Apprenticeship: which combines training within the workshops of the Corporation and practical training within industrial facilities.

Supervision of the private sector on the evaluation of trainees: to ensure the quality and efficiency of graduates and their compatibility with operating requirements.
He also pointed out that the Corporation, in cooperation with the World Bank, has launched two strategic programs at the end of 2024, which aim to enhance the ability of Jordanian workers to compete in global markets, such as the European Union, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
Dr. Al-Gharaiba explained that there are currently about 350 trainees receiving specialized training in the German language, in preparation for sending them to work in the German market, in addition to 50 trainees already working there. The Corporation is also preparing to launch the second phase of the program, which is aimed at providing job opportunities in the Canadian market.
He added that the Corporation is also working on an initiative aimed at reducing unemployment among university graduates, especially in ICT specialties, by enabling them to work remotely with major international companies without the need for work visas, which contributes to integrating Jordanian competencies into the global digital economy.
Dr. Al-Gharaiba pointed out that the job opportunities provided by the government annually range from 10,000 to 13,000 jobs, while the number of opportunities included in the formation schedule for the current year amounted to about 7,700 opportunities, while the private sector provided about 21,000 jobs, reflecting the importance of strengthening the partnership between the public and private sectors to increase employment opportunities and achieve comprehensive economic development.
Dr. Al-Gharaiba explained that the Vocational Training Corporation seeks to provide job opportunities for all young men and women in various specialties, through its network of institutes spread throughout the Kingdom, explaining that the basic condition for enrolling in training programs is that the trainee has completed the age of only 17 years. He added that more than 3,000 trainees with higher certificates, whether high school, bachelor’s or even doctorate, joined the Corporation’s institutes, bringing the total number of trainees during the current year to more than 16,000 trainees.
