☐ 39 Trainers Complete Training in Digital Skills and Artificial Intelligence
☐ VTC, UNICEF and DOT Jordan Expand Digital Skills Opportunities for Youth
The Vocational Training Corporation (VTC), in cooperation with UNICEF and DOT Jordan, has concluded specialized training for 39 trainers as part of the “Digital Skills for a Better Future” program, aimed at strengthening the integration of digital skills and artificial intelligence applications into the vocational training system.
The program is implemented with the support of the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands through the PROSPECTS partnership, as part of joint efforts to equip young people with the skills they need to keep pace with technological developments and access employment opportunities in the digital economy.
Over two weeks, from September 6 to 17, 2026, participants received training covering essential digital skills, freelancing and microtasks, the use of artificial intelligence tools, as well as an introduction to approved training materials and the development of session management and facilitation skills.
Training the trainers represents a key step in expanding the program’s reach and ensuring its sustainability. The trainers will transfer these skills to VTC trainees at its institutes, strengthening young people’s readiness for the evolving demands of the labor market.
VTC Director General Eng. Raafat Mousa Al-Sawafin said that developing trainers’ capacities and strengthening their skills are key pillars in improving the quality of the training process. He emphasized that the Corporation is working to strengthen the presence of digital skills and artificial intelligence within its training system, recognizing the importance of equipping trainers with modern tools and knowledge that keep pace with rapid technological developments and enhance their ability to prepare trainees for the evolving demands of the labor market.
He added that investing in trainers is an investment in generations of trainees, noting that the Corporation will continue developing the capacities of its staff and updating its programs to keep pace with technological changes and open new pathways to skills and opportunities for young people.
The training coincides with the Vocational Training Corporation’s celebration of its 50th anniversary and its continued efforts to develop its programs and tools in response to technological changes and labor-market needs.
UNICEF Representative in Jordan, Mark Roben, said: “The importance of this training extends beyond developing the capacities of 39 trainers. It also enables them to transfer this knowledge to larger numbers of young people across the various VTC institutes. Through our partnership with the Corporation and DOT Jordan, and with the support of the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands through the PROSPECTS partnership, we are working to equip young people with the digital and practical skills they need to move confidently from learning to employment opportunities.”
DOT Jordan Executive Director Hamza Al-Shreideh said that developing trainers’ capacities is an essential step toward ensuring the sustainability of the impact of digital-skills programs and reaching a larger number of young people. He stressed the importance of strengthening the skills young people need to keep pace with technological developments and benefit from new opportunities created by the digital economy.
