Accessibility Policy

This policy has been developed to ensure that persons with disabilities have equal opportunities to access technologies that can enrich their lives. It covers a range of electronic accessibility determinants, including digital content, website functionalities, media, services, and accessibility through assistive technologies.

The Accessibility Policy aims to provide convenience to the target audience by addressing the needs of users with disabilities regarding the use of digital functions. This website applies a number of accessibility standards and techniques based on the Jordanian Government Website Guidelines, which cover the global WCAG 2.1 standards. Several features have been added to assist these groups, including the following:

Site Map

The website follows the Jordanian Government Website standards by structuring content through a site map, which facilitates navigation between pages and makes accessing information and services easier.

Zoom Feature

The website supports browser "Zoom" options to enlarge text size, helping users who have difficulty reading text or viewing images. The feature can also be activated using Ctrl + "+" to zoom in, Ctrl + "–" to zoom out, and Ctrl + 0 to reset the screen size to default.

Responsive Design

The website is designed to respond to different screen sizes, including mobile phones, tablets, and desktop computers, with optimal display for screens sized 768 × 1366.

Text Size Adjustment

The website provides users who have difficulty reading text the ability to increase or decrease font size by clicking the A+ or A- icons located at the top of the homepage.

Color Control

The website provides color schemes to assist users who have difficulty reading text on certain background colors. This facilitates reading and reduces eye strain, especially for blind and visually impaired users.

Keyboard Support

The website can be navigated using the keyboard by pressing the Tab, Shift, or Enter keys.

Scroll-to-Top Feature

The website includes a scroll-to-top button that allows users to return to the top of the page with a single click.

Non-Text Content

Images and non-text content must include alternative text in Arabic or the relevant language.

Audio-Only and Pre-Recorded Video

Equivalent alternative information should be provided for audiovisual content according to accessibility needs.

Pre-Recorded Captions

For pre-recorded audio or video, captions should be provided in the preferred language (Arabic is the default language).

Orientation

Users must be able to set vertical or horizontal display orientation.

Use of Color

Color should be used for decoration and to convey information.

Audio Control

Users should be able to pause, stop, or adjust the volume of content that plays for more than three seconds.

Minimum Contrast

Provide a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for text elements (text and text images).

Text Enlargement

Users should be able to enlarge text up to 200% when necessary without losing any information.

Non-Text Contrast

Applies to user interface components and graphics.

Pause, Stop, Hide

Users must be able to pause, stop, or hide moving, blinking, or scrolling content.

Three Flashes or Fewer

Avoid using more than three flashes per second for any content.

Keyboard Trap

Users must not be trapped in any part of the page and should be able to navigate both inside and outside the page using the keyboard.

Timing Adjustments

Users should be able to adjust time limits or be alerted to do so via speech, text, or audio.

Error Prevention

Users must be able to undo or cancel incorrect actions and have the ability to correct errors.
