The Director General of the Vocational Training Corporation, Eng. Raafat Mousa Al-Sawafeen, affirmed that the Corporation continues to develop its vocational training system in a way that strengthens its role in supplying the labor market with qualified professionals and skilled workers capable of meeting the evolving needs of economic sectors and keeping pace with rapid changes in the nature of occupations and the skills required in the future.
Al-Sawafeen made the remarks during a panel discussion held as part of INFTEXPO 2026, where he highlighted the role of the Vocational Training Corporation in preparing qualified professionals, strengthening practical training, and aligning it with the needs of productive sectors, thereby enhancing trainees’ readiness to enter the labor market.
Al-Sawafeen highlighted the programs implemented by the Corporation in the agricultural and food sectors, which provide practical training that contributes to supporting production, enhancing food security, and creating new employment opportunities. He also referred to programs related to the pharmaceutical sector and the Corporation’s role in preparing skilled professionals capable of meeting the sector’s needs and keeping pace with its development.
He emphasized that trainers and practical training are two fundamental pillars in building skills, stressing that developing the training system begins with investing in the capabilities of both trainers and trainees and enhancing the efficiency of the training process to meet the requirements of modern occupations.
In the context of technological transformation, Al-Sawafeen explained that the Corporation is moving toward integrating artificial intelligence into its specializations and training programs, with the aim of enabling trainees to benefit from AI tools and use them to improve their performance. He stressed that this approach is not intended to eliminate the role of humans, but rather to enhance their ability to produce, innovate, and keep pace with future transformations in the labor market.
He also emphasized the Corporation’s focus on embedding entrepreneurship and future skills within its training programs, enhancing trainees’ ability to move from acquiring skills to applying them in innovation and opportunity creation, whether by entering the labor market or pursuing self-employment and entrepreneurial ventures.
Al-Sawafeen concluded by affirming that the Vocational Training Corporation is advancing toward a more innovative and flexible training model based on integrating skills, technology, entrepreneurship, and labor market needs. This approach strengthens the ability of vocational training graduates to keep pace with economic and productive transformations and develop the skills of the future.
