Tourism Ministry & Vocational Training Corporation

• Ministry of Tourism, in partnership with the Vocational Training Corporation, launches 49 training programs in the tourism sector

• 608 participants enrolled across 22 institutes in programs targeting job seekers, tourism workers, service providers, and tourism experience providers

With the aim of developing qualified human resources and enhancing workforce readiness to meet the needs of the tourism sector, the implementation of 49 training programs has commenced at the institutes of the Vocational Training Corporation, in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.

The programs are being implemented under the initiative stemming from the agreement signed between the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Vocational Training Corporation, Future Jordan for Sustainable Development / Future Skills Fund, and the Jordanian Company for Hotel and Tourism Education.

A total of 608 participants have enrolled in the programs, distributed across 22 institutes and several associations, including 368 job seekers and 240 tourism service providers.

The training programs cover a range of fields related to the tourism sector and its needs, including handicrafts, food industries, hotel and tourism services, food and beverage services, digital marketing, project management for associations, artificial intelligence tools, and occupational health and safety courses. These programs enable participants to acquire specialized practical skills while contributing to improving the quality of tourism services and experiences offered to tourists and visitors.

Prior to the launch of the programs, the registration and application processes were completed, followed by interviews and participant selection. The Vocational Training Corporation and the Ministry of Tourism supervised the registration and interview stages in cooperation with the Jordan Hotels Association and the Jordan Restaurants Association, contributing to the selection of participants and their placement in training programs according to the nature of each field and the needs of the sector.

The program targets job seekers by providing training programs that qualify them for employment in the tourism sector, as well as tourism sector employees by developing their skills and enhancing the quality of tourism services. It also targets tourism service providers and local experience providers from local communities across the Kingdom’s governorates, with the aim of developing their skills and improving the quality of services and experiences offered to tourists and visitors.

The implementation of these programs comes within the framework of a partnership between stakeholders in training, tourism, and the private sector. This partnership strengthens the alignment of training with labor market needs, supports the provision of qualified personnel for the tourism sector, and empowers local communities to develop their skills and benefit from opportunities associated with tourism activity across the Kingdom’s governorates.
